And so, after 2 years, my beloved partner was ready to go. With our bags packed and ready for a new life together we left Asia and America for Australia. We left behind our jobs and set out to gain permanent residency for me in a place where healthcare is a basic right and not something you hope and pray your job provides.
Before making this decision my sister asked a very serious question.
A bird and a fish may love each other, but where would they live?
Well I didn’t know at the time but it looks like the answer for now, is Australia.
